I took Elegoo kit , i believe they followed some advisory and nowadays resistors have the right color , we started to play with that and my 10 yt old son loves it even though he is very impatient , i guess it is the best to start easy , let them play with cabling abd support them whenever they need some help, actually we are going to build some fastest lap display for Carrera cars , keep fingers crossed , i hope we can make it 😁

I enjoy very much your review, I am interested in this kind of projects. Now that I am a Model Railroad fan, and this days they use a lot of electronics. When I was a kid of about 10 yr. old, my dad give me a set, with the posibility of building several electronic projects. This was a set with the Philips branding, from Holland, but was made in Mexico. The Name of the set: ELECTRONIC ENGINEER . It had a booklet with electronic and electric basics and another part with the instructions for building different projects. An AM radio, a light detector, a humidity detector, even a very small keyboard, a pair of speakers, and the various electronic components. All powered by a battery. Was a nice Set. Somewhere. I kept the booklet only. But I have a grandson that will be 10 yr.old this year, very intelligent, he was born in Austria, and lives there. Recently he, and his peers, were exposed, to a Technic school, and they receive information about LEDs, Faraday cages, electricity. And he is interested in this matters. So I Think this ARDUINO starter kit is for him

Im going with Elegoo, I want to start a project that reads temperature and humidity from Industrial Refrigeration Chambers. I know that Elegoo is the right option to start learning in this case. You may consider the following in addition when comparing the kits:
Elegoo "just copied" what has been developed / designed by Arduino. Arduino is a non-profit organization. Development of the boards, the parts, the specification is much more expensive than "copying". So it is always better to support the original whenever possible, so they can invest the money in development of new boards, new parts, etc. In case everybody would buy the cheapest kit it is to be expected the Arduino will run out of money.
